As the high school track and field season winds down, many Black River athletes have decided that aren't quite ready for the season to be overwith yet.  The Pirate track teams took part in the district meets last week and both the boys and girls team had very strong performances in their respective district meets.  The girls participated in the Division 3 Independence district and advance 6 total athletes across 7 different events to this weeks regional meet at Fairless.  Morgan Terry (Discuss throw), Romi Smith (100, 200 and Long Jump), Madison Hawley (400), Hannah Heath (3200), and the 4x4 relay team of Hannah White, Morgan Young, Romi Smith, and Madison Hawley all advance to regionals.  The regional prelims will start on Wednesday at Fairless High School.  On the boys side, Walter Polanski (400) and Tanner Hawley (3200) advance to regionals out of the very tough Division 2 Orrville district.  Walter and Tanner will travel to Lexington High School on Thursday and Saturday of this week for the Division 2 regional.
